The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: 12/9/09

December 9th, 2009 | by wutae3 |

Minnesota Wild 1, Colorado Avalanche 0
Pepsi Center

Box Score

The Avs returned home and wished they were back on the road.  Maybe they should play all of their games away from the Pepsi Center.  Or maybe they should play everyone except Minnesota.  Colorado lost its four game of the season to the Wild.  They still have two more games with Minnesota this season.

Budaj

The Good

  • Budaj sharp in net.  Peter Budaj once again played an outstanding game.  While he only faced 22 shots, he made the necessary saves and kept the Avs in the games.  With Craig Anderson beginning to practice, Budaj may be returning to the bench soon.  However, he earned himself some more playing time the rest of the season.

The Bad

  • The power-play.  Colorado went 0-for-6 on the PP.  They had two power play opportunities in the third to tie the game but couldn’t convert.

The Ugly

  • The whole game.  There is one thing you need to know about the Minnesota Wild, never let them get the lead.  Once the Wild have the lead, they sit back and play a neutral zone trap the rest of the game.  This was a boring game.  If you’re not a hockey fan, this game would have confirmed your hatred for hockey.
